In the News:
Wall Street Journal

The Wall Street Journal interviews portfolio manager Axel Merk about Thailand's currency, the Thai baht. The Journal writes in the MarketBeat column:

"Axel Merk, manager of the Merk Hard Currency Fund, says the lack of popular support for the prime minister in Thailand has limited some of the damage there. He believes volatility will rise in the baht and other currencies, however. 'This is a reminder that this region of the world is more volatile,' he said. 'For the conservative fellow who wants to get out of the dollar, that region is not something they want to touch.' "
